A tale of perlage and fragrance
Champagne De Vilmont honours the marquis de San Crevés, François Alphonse Donatien De Vilmont, who lived at the end of the 1700s.
It is said that as an officer in Louis XVI’s Royal Guard, after an important military victory against the Austro-Prussian army, he celebrated on the battlefield of Valmy by opening a bottle of champagne with a stroke of his sabre.
Nowadays the De Vilmont brand shows the same courage and pride in proposing a prime quality product from the renowned Appellation d’Origine Controlée region, made with grapes from the premier cru zone of Rilly-la-Montagne, just a stone’s throw from the more famous Reims. The world of De Vilmont is interwoven with the noble perlage of its effervescent wines achieved using the classical method known as Champenois.
